The Challenge
Designing Aperture was exciting but challenging.
Here are some challenges I faced while designing it.
Research on the Photographer and his life
Finding high quality photos
Fixing photos where needed.
Making a Zine that is heavy on photography itself is a challenge and making sure that each photo is perfect and does justice to the photographers work was another challenge.
Process
Designing a magazine involves a detailed process. Here’s a simplified overview of the steps taken.
Research and Understanding
Finding Content
Ideation
Making layouts
Digitalization
Refinement
Finalization
Solution
When designing Aperture I wanted to have something that highlights the photography thus I chose a minimalistic layout that has a lot of breathing room and that highlights on the content and the work done by David Lazar.
